ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Camille Thoman is a Los Angeles based writer/director. Her recent feature, the critically acclaimed thriller NEVER HERE starring Mirelle Enos and Sam Shepard was released in theaters by Vertical Entertainment and hailed as “an auspicious debut...artful and atmospheric to the max” by the LA Times. NEVER HERE marked Sam Shepard's final screen role. From 2017-2021, Thoman has been serving multiple roles at renowned sports video game NBA2K, including Segment Director, Second Unit Director and Cinematics Editor. In 2018, Thoman's award-winning documentary THE LONGEST GAME premiered on PBS, where it is still airing. Camille wrote, directed and edited the short film FALLING OBJECTS (2006), with Mireille Enos, Timothy Hutton and Melissa Leo. Thoman's solo performance pieces have toured the UK and been performed by her in London at the prestigious The Young Vic and Battersea Arts Center. Her piece Numb was nominated for a Total Theatre Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and broadcast on the BBC. This Fall, she is slated to direct THE GATE, starring THE CROWN'S Tobias Menzies, from a script she co-wrote with Menzies.
